InfraRed Radiant Heating - Good Business Sense
All the hype about caps on carbon pollution, higher taxes and the recent economic downturn is forcing most business owners to re-think, re-tool and get downright creative in an effort to decrease operational expenses. Scott Workman of Infra-Red Products Supply, Inc. suggests one way to help businesses be more profitable is to "reduce fixed operational expenses that are siphoning away huge sums of money from month to month". One of those constant "money siphons" can be found in an obvious place, the monthly gas and electrical bill. For owners and managers of auto service garages, aircraft hangars, manufacturing plants and similar high bay structures, wasteful and costly heating systems can substantially threaten business viability.
The good news is that "these types of structures can save upwards of 50% in energy usage with a well-engineered infrared heating system compared to a conventional forced air system. Imagine having a $2,000.00 per month fuel bill and cutting it in half! In older, poorly insulated buildings, the savings can be even greater. A new infrared system can pay itself back in as little as one to three years, just through fuel savings alone. From then on, it's money in the bank", according to Mr. Workman.
Businesses owners in colder Northern climates know that the heating bill is one of their biggest monthly expenses. So why don't they upgrade or replace their inefficient heating system? Actually, many are doing just that. In fact, local government agencies and municipalities have realized the huge energy-savings of infrared heating systems for years. Radiant tube heaters are commonplace in fire stations, ambulance buildings, waste management facilities, water treatment plants and road maintenance buildings. According to Mr. Workman "We rarely see inefficient forced air heating systems such as unit heaters specified by engineering and architectural firms for new facilities such as these. And even for older existing structures, infrared heating systems are being installed to replace older, inefficient ones. Retro-fitting these buildings is an excellent return on investment".
The principle of infrared heating can also apply to residential garages. Homeowners are very concerned about monthly heating costs. The good news is, there are several excellent infra-red heaters designed especially for residential garages and small shops ranging in price from under $300 up to $800, not including installation, of course.
In summary, rather than hoping in vain for an economic recovery to make businesses more profitable, there are proactive steps business owners can take now to make things better. A well-designed infrared heating system is a surprisingly affordable and practical way to do just that. Infra-Red Products Supply, Inc. has focussed on designing and supplying infrared heating systems for over 23 years. During that stretch of time, the need for energy efficient heating has never been as great as it is now.
