3700 series UV cure is the
newest topcoat it is good flowing &
leveling with great vertical hang &
easy to Sand & buff to a high gloss
finish. Can be used as your sealer coat
over the 59x1 UV cure pore filler.
Application:
These products can be applied
over our clear sanding sealers (28x50 & 28x52) or Simtec UV cured pore
filler 59x1. It can also be applied over a color coat such
as House of Kolor or a polyester color (any thing else should be tested by the
user). The clears will deepen and enhance the look of the wood or color it is
sprayed over.
Surface Preparation:
Prepare the surface to be coated
by sanding with 220 or 320 grit sand papers non-sterated. Then wipe the surface with a slow evaporating
lacquer thinner or IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol).
After wiping the surface with the solvent do not touch with hands, you
may leave oils from your hands on the surface causing fisheyes. Give special attention to surface preparation
to ensure a good quality finished product.
Applying the Coating:
Simtec’s UV Prestec
can be applied with an Hvlp or Lacquer type gun, whichever is acceptable in
your area. Use 25-40 lbs. Air pressure
with 1.2 to 1.4 mm fluid nozzle, holding the spray gun 12-18 inches from the
surface being coated. With the UV cured
product only apply 2-3 mills per coat.
Allow 30 to 40 minutes between coats.
Make sure you allow 30 minutes of flash time after last coat before you
UV cure.
You can cure 3 coats up to 10
mills. Do not cure more than 3
coats. After 3 coats you will need to
sand if more build is required.
If you need to thin use MEK or
Ethyl Acetate. (Need to allow time for
solvents to flash).
UV Cure Lights
The lights should be
300 to 600 watts per inch Mercury Vapor.
Good bulbs read 360-400 Milijoules.
